Seeing Jamestown Island in Black & White

Jamestown Island has some of the most distinguished looking trees you can imagine. Often they are located in the waters surrounding the island. I consider them old friends.

Blue Herons gossiping in their favorite morning spot. These are beautiful bald cypress trees.

A large bald cypress tree stands in the Back River on the north side of the island.

The Jamestown ferry Powhatan passing the Williamsburg on the James during a morning fog. The Jamestown-Scotland ferry is a constant presence on the river and connects Jamestown on the east bank with Scotland wharf in Surry County on the west.
